Farnham Community Group

Farnham Community Group is a part of South West Surrey Services for People with Learning Disabilities. It aims to meet the needs of Adults with Learning Difficulties within their local community.

Each individuals’ programme is developed following guidelines from the ‘Valuing People’ White Paper and the ‘Independence, Choice and Well Being’ Green Paper in partnership with Service Users, their Parent(s)/Carer(s), Care Managers and other professional agencies.

Our aim is to enable individuals’ to develop confidence, support networks and independence within their localities.

To do this we work in small groups, or one to one, on a range of agreed activities seeking to develop existing skills and build the confidence needed to try new things, thus fostering personal growth and development.

As we all live locally, Farnham is where we have chosen to build these skills and live our lives.

Our activities are varied and include:

· Sports and Leisure
· Promoting Independence i.e. Travel Training, Shopping, Cooking and Home Living Skills
· Healthy Living Skills
· Computer Skills
· Personal Care and Development
· Adult Education
· Community Awareness.

We would like to find some volunteers to help us in our endeavours. If you can help, please contact
