About this part of the site
Woman with Gateways computer

It has been developed as part of Surrey Gateways, a project to bring computer access to groups of adults with learning disabilities in Surrey. The project is part of UK Online, the government's plan to make sure that everyone who lives in the UK has a chance to use the internet.

Fifteen locations across Surrey, all accessed by adults with learning disabilities, have been supplied with PCs, and specialist hardware including touch screens, large roller ball mice and symbol software.

This website has been developed by Surrey County Council, with the help of The Clear Communications People Ltd. The aim is for people in the day centres to produce content for the site using their Gateways computers.

The symbols used on the site were produced using Widgit Software.

For further information about the project, please contact Frank Kitchener at frank.kitchener@surreycc.gov.uk.
